I love this sport and I absolutely love the support you guys give me; and I will continue to do it until I can't.

I do everything in my power to get myself to a 100% so I can perform to my potential... that's all I can ask for.

None of us is promised tomorrow... So whenever an opportunity has presented itself for me I'm willing to take it.

At the end of the day, when two combatants get into the ring and/or cage, it's anybody's game, especially in MMA.

It's impossible to measure the type of mental strength and determination that's required to be an elite wrestler.

Have you seen any African American athlete that appeals to the urban market actually bring that market to the MMA?

Power is different when you combined it with wisdom. Wisdom allows you to use less power to accomplish more tasks.

It's all about getting better and controlling the things that you can control, which is getting better day to day.

Go toward self-actualization rather than self-image actualization... Search within... for honest self- expression.

I don't think there is rivalry between the teams in Brazil. We each do our jobs, and we each have our part in MMA.

MMA is all about putting on a show and entertaining the fans, and that's the one thing I've known from the get-go.

Once you understand what excellence is all about... you see how that excellence manifests itself in any discipline.

I was looking for a way to lose a little weight and discovered MMA and its disciplines, and I fell in love with it.

Martial arts is not about picking your fights and picking how things go; it's about adapting to the how things are.

Losing sucks but I look at more what I gained as an individual, as an athlete..sometimes in losing you learn a lot.

I'm more into MMA than any other sport. I watch a lot of the UFC fights. I have since it first came onto the scene.

One of the big things that I focus on is not having regrets, just taking every opportunity I have and going for it.

The only difference about us in here and you guys out there is we're braver for about 15 minutes longer. That's it.

If you stay consistent to the sport you will eventually get good, but you have to just want it more to be the best.

I've fallen short in my career, in MMA, but it is what it is. You're going to do that. I just wanted opportunities.

Be you and I think people will recognize the special things about yourself. Just be you, and be you to the fullest.

I'm always scared when I fight. But that fear is what keeps me more alert and more focused. It's good to have fear.

It’s better to be in the arena, getting stomped by the bull, than to be up in the stands or out in the parking lot.

I don't want little girls to have the same ambitions as me. But I want them to know that it's okay to be ambitious.

What do you want for your life? And how are you going to get it? Figure that out. And then follow me to gloryville.

I am as resilient as the steel that was once made here, and I am a fighter, in every sense of the word. We all are.

I'm not going all the way; I'm going to be the best fighter that's ever fought in MMA. That's what I truly believe.

I do get paid well as an MMA fighter, but this isn't boxing and I feel like we should get paid like this is boxing.

I spent so many years in MMA waving the banner for pro wrestling, telling fighters they had to be more entertaining.

To lead other people is to be able to impact them in a positive way: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically.

I'm doing yoga, MMA and things like that. I'm an unorthodox player, so I have to do things that fit my kind of game.

I loved fighting... It gave me the opportunity to prove myself, to stand up and say, 'I'm the best. I matter. I am.'

I'm always trying to evolve and I'm always trying to learn new things. The mind is the most powerful weapon you have.

Training, a lot of the time, is just uncomfortable. But discipline is all about doing the thing that's uncomfortable.

It's not the man who pushes himself the hardest... it's the man who pushes himself the hardest after it gets painful.

When great depths of unrelenting sorrow are punctuated by great peaks of joy and liberation, the result is delicious.

Obviously wrestling is a core component of MMA. And among UFC fighters, my take-down defence is considered quite high.

When it comes to fighting you shouldn't be thinking at all. You have to clear your mind and trust yourself completely.

There's a million ways to live on this thing called a planet, I'mma live everyday, I ain't takin' nothing for granted.

The goal is to avoid mediocrity by being prepared to try something and either failing miserably or triumphing grandly.

In some way I felt I was never good enough until I started fighting. I was always striving to show my worth and value.

To be happy is very important to do a great performance because you have to be comfortable; your mind has to be clear.

I used to laugh at MMA and say 'do you know what a boxer would do to an MMA guy?' and then I got educated on the truth.

If I know the outcome is not going to devastate my life, it makes me so much more excited for everything that's to come.

A system that works for one person won't be perfect for another... Individuality is a major part of expanding knowledge.

Awkward, odd, and difficult situations will always present themselves. You just have to stay cool and work through them.

I'm nervous... but I'm not going to fear what I'm about to do, I'm going to take it head on and I'm going to conquer it.

I may not be able to keep fighting for money... but I will always have to fight for my dignity, because that's who I am.

I feel much better to give than to receive. That's why I'm much more happier now as a coach than I ever was as a fighter.

It's not really that much of a big deal - you brush it off and you come back. Defeat is the secret ingredient to success.
