There's nothing like a good cheating song to make me want to run home to be with my wife.

I just want people to hear my music and feel good, go to the club, dance, have fun, and get home safe... none of that gang-banging stuff.

My brother, a businessman, is the main cook in his home and my sister teaches cookery. Good food and good music were the mainstays of my childhood.

I sing for the joy of music... when I go back home with the satisfaction that today I recorded a good song or the whole crowd was singing along with me when I performed on stage.

I was shy at dancing. I practice at home. I was practicing in the mirror. Dancing everywhere. Then I just started feeling good. I started feeling coordinated. I started feeling the music better.

At home I have a mixing desk that I like playing around on. It's great fun making music myself. And music has always been a very good counterbalance to football for me. It allows me to switch off and relax.

The places I visit in any given week are my home, so when I'm somewhere that feels good to me, it's a real game changer. If a place causes me to have a strong reaction, be it positive or negative, it'll often find its way into my music.

When I first got started, I used to say I just want to stay in the studio, I want to make good music, I want to sing my heart out, and I didn't think I'd have people following me to a grocery store or following me home or stuff like that.

Cooking, to me, it's kind of therapeutic. It's completely different from music as well. I'm not amazing at it, but I can cook myself a good meal. And I'm not just saying this, but anytime I'm on the bus or at home, I'm watching Food Network or cooking on TV just 'cause it's interesting to me.

I started trying to do my own music at home, and I was like, 'You know what, I can play the guitar, sort of. And I can do these things, sort of. And I can make these crazy noises on my computer, sort of. But I need a ridiculously good drummer. I need someone to help me with string arrangements.'
