Having a relationship with Jesus and making him the center of everything I do is the most important thing to me in hockey and whatever I am doing.

It's pretty funny, just driving by in a cab, and you see a huge billboard of yourself on the side of a hotel, like a 100-by-100 poster hanging up.

Playoff hockey is the best way to market your team. It's the best way to grow your fan base and give hope to your players and for them to develop.

Right now I'm scoring goals and I'm the king of the world. And a couple weeks ago I was almost in the toilet. So maybe you just forget to flush me.

I remember all the way back to atom, when I would be doing things I shouldn't be doing. It is just how I was. It just gets me involved in the game.

You're paid to perform. There is an outcome to a game and it doesn't matter how many goals you score. If you don't win, you don't have a good time.

Anyone that coaches their son, you expect more out of your boy. I'm not talking about stats, but I expected him to be the hardest worker out there.

I consider the Detroit Red Wings one of the greatest franchises in any sport. For a player to come in and play, it's so special to wear the jersey.

I played basketball and soccer but they are very different games, obviously. However, playing any kind of sport always helps you develop physically.

I don't want to be in a position like, O.K., just give me a contract and I'll be on the team and play every two games. I don't want to be like that.

You do your job, you get your work done at the rink and then you go home. The big thing is figuring out what you're going to do the rest of the day.

Everyone thinks, "Oh, it'd be easy to just go scout a game." It's not. Because you end up watching the game and not actually focusing [on scouting].

Obviously ,you want to demand the puck; you want to have it as much as you can because you feel like good things can happen when it's on your stick.

I'm a very, very proud Canadian, and having the privilege to represent my country on the international level was the highlight of my 18-year career.

In Russia, we had tough times. Only one puck, I always wanted the puck, so I learn how to keep it and make space and get puck when other guy has it.

NHL is the best league in the world and I feel that I should play in the best league in the world. Money's not an issue and you cannot buy happiness.

Growing up in Canada, most kids from Canada dream of playing in the NHL, and they also hope one day to be on a Stanley Cup team. That was a big goal.

I wish I had more opportunities to play for Canada when I was younger, but pros just never had the chance in those days. It was just set up that way.

I always want to push myself as far as possible; I always want to be up there and recognised as a good goalie and have people appreciate what you do.

I don't believe there is such thing as a just or unjust war; there are avoidable and unavoidable wars. Sometimes you have no choice but to go to war.

A huge part of my passion for the sport comes from being Canadian and growing up watching Hockey Night in Canada on CBC with my parents and siblings.

I think the Americans are ready to play, they want to beat us. I think that players like Chris Chelios and his leadership over there goes a long way.

We played in an era where you were taught to hate your opponent. But life changes. I raise my kids differently than my mom and dad raised their kids.

If you jump out of a plane without a parachute, does that make you brave? No, I think that makes you stupid. I will never play without the mask again.

At times during hockey, I know myself, you get so wrapped up in it, you squeeze your stick a little too much, all those things, or you're too focused.

Here in Denver, we want to thank Jeremy Jacobs for the way he runs his business. Otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten Ray Bourque and won a Stanley Cup.

I think you try to improve every season and every game and be prepared about certain defensemen you're playing against, certain ways to find open ice.

When I was a kid, I remember playing hockey outside and whenever you did, you thought about playing for Finland vs. Sweden. Thats just the way it was.

It doesn't matter what I think. It doesn't matter what other people think. You have to get on the ice and participate and play and the best team wins.

Sport is the biggest part of my life. It has allowed me to meet different people from various cultures and background and has greatly enriched my life.

My job is to suggest and ratify and use any expertise that I might have gained over the 23 years in professional hockey to make our game a better game.

If a player is trying to intimidate a skilled player on your team, what do we want? We want our skilled players playing, so we shouldn't be doing that.

Mistakes happen. Not every one of my suspensions was purposeful or intentional. A lot of that stuff happens spur of the moment in the middle of a game.

Growing up, I played hockey because I loved playing it. I didn't view myself in minor hockey as a Black hockey player, but I was also aware that I was.

I want to be shooter, be competitive, go to the net, so it has changed, but it hasn't changed that much. It's more skating than it used to be for sure.

The first thing I would do when I saw Bobby coming down at me was to say a little prayer if I had time. I'm sure I wasn't the only goalie who did that.

I think I was just really comfortable in my goalie equipment, just being in the net and being by myself for 60 minutes and talking to myself sometimes.

Whether it's just walking down the street to try to go to a movie, go to dinner, something like that, there are always a few people that recognize you.

Leadership is one of sports intangibles. Guys can score, guys can fight, guys can skate faster than anybody else. But not everybody can say, Follow me.

I'd like to hear them be a bit more creative, though. I've heard 'you're a sieve, you stink' my whole life and you can tell it's obviously affected me.

When I was a kid, I remember playing hockey outside and whenever you did, you thought about playing for Finland vs. Sweden. That's just the way it was.

Lots of guys don't like Jacques Plante, but he has been good to me. He's always by himself, you know, and how can you hate a guy when you never see him?

I was 14 when I lost them [his front teeth]. The main thing was, we won that game, so I was the happiest. You hate to lose your teeth and the game, too.

You hear peewee coaches teaching the 'trap'. What the heck are we doing teaching the 'trap'? Let the kids go, let them have fun; that's how you improve.

I don't like having noise swirling around me. Loud noises bother me, so I try to stick to the outside of a room. I try to keep the noise in front of me.

If I learned one thing by playing professional hockey for thirty-two years, it's that you have to love what you do. And that's not just true for sports.

Of course, my family has been a big reason for me to come back, especially my son who loves the game of hockey - he was a big reason for me coming back.

I don't remember those early playoff games. Keep it positive. I'm a different player. More focused. I know how important it is to score in the playoffs.

I have nothing bad to say against the city of Edmonton. I liked it there. I had a fun year playing. It's something I'll remember for the rest of my life.

Every year, you try to be more consistent. It's a long year and it's tough to do. But those great players do find it. That's something that I try to do.?
